Out of all the the Tricksters in the tales most of all I would want to meet the rabbit from. I picked the rabbit because he is really mischievous and smart but also bubbly/ditzy. In Rabbit and the Tug of War, he challenges two buffalos to a tug of war and tricks them into pulling against each other. He then loses his long tail Rabbit’s Choctaw Tail Tale. I think the Rabbit is much like an actual human. Because humans are mischievous when needed but also can be ditzy. I just think the Rabbit would be entertaining.

How do you think the universe started and life on earth began?

I honestly do not give this topic as much thought as I probably should. When thinking about how the universe started I always automatically think about the Big Bang Theory, because thats what we are taught in school. And then I think about the religious aspect that God created earth and man. The Big Bang theory is the idea that “the universe as we know it started with a small singularity, then inflated over the next 13.8 billion years to the cosmos that we know today.” The God outlook on it is that God created heaven and earth in 6 days and rested on the seventh day.In my mind life began with animals and as time evolved humans started to exist. But in reality I do not know how the universe started and life began on earth. Because, I do not think any human has the correct answer.
Changing Offensive Sports Team Names
The word offensive has two definitions one is something, “causing someone to feel deeply hurt, upset, or angry.” The other definition is something that is,”actively aggressive; attacking.” Sports are a huge part of society specifically american culture. Many people engage in the act of watching and playing sports, it attracts people from many demographic and social groups. If sports teams have an offensive name and/or mascot they should have to change them. Because if they do not they are stunting social growth. People work hard to make society a more accepted atmosphere and attempting to steer away from past social issues. If a sports team holds a name that reminds a certain group of people of a period in which they were discriminated against, they are not showing sympathy or compassion. The goal of sports teams are to win whatever game they are playng so changing an offensive name or mascot would not harm them in any way.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN READING AND VIEWING IMAGES?
The difference between reading and viewing an image is that your brain processes both actions differently. Viewing is defined as the ability to see something or to be seen from a particular place. While reading is defined as the action or skill of reading written or printed matter silently or aloud. When these things are related to an image it differs but is relatively the same. When viewing an image your brain sees the image for what it is, it examines color, content and presentation. When reading an image your brain sees the image for the words that are on it. Your brain creates the image from its previous understanding of the words. For instance in the picture below there are animals and objects in it. When viewing the image our brain sees that there is a yellow duck, red ball, grass and a dog etc. When reading the image our brain recognizes the duck and the dog etc. because of the letters. Our brains form the image because it relates the letters d-u-c-k with the image of a duck and same for the other objects.

HOW DO YOU THINK GENDER INFLUENCES RELIGION AND LITERATURE?

Gender has a huge impact on religion and literature. Firstly gender is a core aspect of religion. Men dominate every religion and women play the role as the supporter of men. In most religions God is depicted as a man, he is the creator of all things. This shadows the idea that men have the ultimate authority which is theme in religion. Men are most commonly talked about and when women are talked about they are most often have lesser value. Gender influences literature in multiple ways. One influence it has is it affected the older pieces of literature. Older literature displayed an enormous amount of masculinity. Possibly because most of it was written by men.
Another way is the fact that both women and men write literature and they experience and feel different things in life which show through their works. Another influence it has is it affected the older. Ultimately the influence that gender has on religion and literature goes far beyond what I can explain. It is seen through everyday life and obstacles faced during the evolution of mankind.
HOW HAS READING THE KORAN IMPACTED YOUR IDEAS OF ISLAM?
Reading The Koran has given me a better understanding of the Islam Religion. Islam is the religion of the Muslims, a monotheistic faith regarded as revealed through Muhammad as the Prophet of Allah. Before reading the Koran I did not know anything about Islam beyond the everyday things I see Muslims do. The Koran to me is more strict than The Bible, its more of a step by step document on how Allah wants the people to live. I think the bible is more open for interpretation which is the cause of the many conflicts that arise between Christians when it comes to them practicing different. The Koran surprised me when it talked about other religions. I never thought that t would touch on other religions beliefs when speaking about the Islam religion as well. Also, the fact the it is told by the Prophet Muhammad and the idea that that is a clear fact unlike the books of other religions was really cool to me. I got more insight on the rules and regulations of the Islam religion. I know see why they do not eat pork, pray so often and dress the way they do. All these things are explained in their religious book. After reading the Koran I now understand why Muslims are so persistent and strict about the way they live.
Blog Post 4

People often prefer not to talk about religion because it is such a controversial topic. Controversial is defined as “giving rise or likely to give rise to public disagreement” and religion does just that. This is because there are so many different religions in the world and many religions have different views/beliefs than others. These different views and beliefs make it hard for people to discuss because most conversations revolving around religion become tense. Which is why religion and politics are conversations that are said not to be discussed at the dinner table. Another reason people do not like to talk about religion is because many people practice their religions differently. For instance you can have two Christians that both believe in god but one goes to church faithfully and the other chooses not to go to church. Both of these people believe in the same god and study the same book but can easily look at each other differently because of the way they worship. Religion also has so many aspects that make it hard to discuss. There are so many rules and guidelines that come with religion that many people would not even know where to start when discussing it during a normal day to say conversation. I would go as far as considering religion to be a intimate conversation. I say this because one has to be really comfortable either with the person or their setting to openly talk about and backup their religious beliefs. Religion conversations take up so much energy that not many people engage in them regularly.

Fate is defined as something that is to “be destined to happen, turn out, or act in a particular way,” I think Crito best explains Socrates’ fate. I say this because in Crito we get a look at how serious the charges are against him because his friend is willing to help him break out of prison. Though Apology goes in to the depths of his actions it doesn’t touch on his punishment as much as Crito does. There are two ultimate fates presented in Crito and they are death and living life on the run. The circumstances in which Socrates find himself has very little chance of ending happily. Crito goes into depth about the two, firstly if he were to escape prison he would never be welcomed into many communities. Staying in jail would result in death because the people who were prosecuting him wanted him to receive death penalty. The main two characters in this part represent his fate as well. Crito represents the fear and Socrates represents stability. Because, even though he was about to be killed Socrates kept the same idea, which was staying home.
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN READING AND HEARING STORIES?

There are many differences between reading and hearing a story but overall the main difference is that it allows the audience to adapt different perceptions of the story. Another difference is that when listening to a story the audience can get a more animated version of the story. When reading a story the person is only presented with the opportunity to listen to their own perception of the characters. When being told a story the reader has control in the tatics they use to read the story to their audience, essentially making it more interesting. Most stories were told word of mouth back in the day, making story telling a culture aspect. A lot of cultures used storytelling as a way to bond and keep their cultures history alive.Personally I am more drawn to listening to a story because I get a better understanding of it hearing it out loud. When reading a story you are limited to only using your inner voice. It doesn’t allow you to essentially hear how the character might be feeling or thinking. Most times when a person read alone to themselves they are just reading word by word, page by page not truly analyzing until later. When listening to a story the reader has the power to alternate the voices they read in to make the story interesting while also being able to tell the story in different ways. When being told a story you tend to remember it and even who told you. It makes the story more personal because its not being associated with paper and ink.
